Passed away peacefully on Friday, November 16, 2018, at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in his 90 ^th year. Pietro was the beloved husband for 57 years to Luciana and loving father of Sandra (George Waller) and Marco (Christene). He was the much loved Nonno of Peter, Alex, and Claire and he was always very proud of his grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Teresa, Luigi, Beatrice and Flavio and was predeceased by his siblings, Amelia, Lina, Giulio, Giuliana, and Alessandro.

Pietro was born in Dossobuono, Italy to parents Marco and Maria. He immigrated to Canada in 1952 leaving his hometown, family and their farm, eventually settling and raising his family in Oakville. He was a founding member of the Famee Furlane Oakville Italian Club, a long-time parishioner of St. Dominic's Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved working in his garden, his small orchard of peach and plum trees in his backyard and winemaking every September. Pietro enjoyed playing cards, loved a good joke and sharing stories with friends and family over a good meal, wine, and coffee. He passed onto his children and grandchildren the values of loyalty, hard work and family.

Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (One block East of Kerr Street) on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with parish prayers to follow at 8 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at Saint Dominic Parish, 2415 Rebecca Street, Oakville at 11 am. Interment will be at St. Jude's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.
