Phyllis was welcomed into the open arms of her Lord on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Burloak Long Term Care in her 95th year. Born in Winnipeg in 1921 and married the late Don Munroe in Winnipeg in 1946. Later moves took them to Oliver, B.C., Vancouver, Winnipeg, Windsor, Edmonton and Oakville. Phyllis loved her Lord, her family and music. She was active throughout the year in the various Baptist churches they attended and in later years with the Oakville Seniors' Harmonichords. Dear mother of Janet and her husband Douglas Carnall, Ray and his wife Linda. Loved grandmother of Alexander, William, Carrie-Lynn (Rob Stanfield) and Andrea (Josh Laver). And great-grandmother of Gabriel and Luke Stanfield and Mia and Annaliese Laver. Visitation will be held at Central Baptist Church, 340 Rebecca Street, Oakville from 2:30 – 3:30 pm on Sunday, November 1, 2015 with a celebration of life service at 3:30 pm in the sanctuary. Reception to follow in the church hall. Private family interment at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery.
