IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Philip Charles
Bennett
July 25, 1929 – May 14, 2014
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Philip Charles Bennett on Wednesday May 14, 2014 in his 85th year. Loving husband of June (nee McKay) and devoted father to Grant, Brian (Karin) and Darlene. Dear brother of James (Carole), and brother-in-law of Betty-Ann, Evelyn (Ian), and Albert (Isobel). Phil was a doting uncle and grandpa to his many nieces, nephews, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He will also be missed by his faithful friend, Geordie. Phil was predeceased by his parents Charles and Sarah Bennett, and siblings Mae Shields (John), Grant (Vera) and Chuck (Gayle) and sister-in-law Doreen Hoey (Wilson). Phil will also be missed by his morning coffee buddies and card-playing friends. Phil always had a twinkle in his eye and a funny joke or story to tell. He was an avid fan of anything his family enjoyed-hockey, robotics, lacrosse, fishing, cards, cottaging, and music. Phil served on the executive of the Minor Oakville Hockey Association, the Oakville Lacrosse Association and the Oakville Blades. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) from 2-5pm on Sunday May 18. The funeral service will be held on Monday May 19 at 1pm in the funeral home chapel. Cremation has occurred. A special thank you to the caring staff of the ICU at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.
The song is ended, but the melody lingers on…
