With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved father Peter Trapman, age 91, on May 17, 2025. He died peacefully in his sleep, while in the wonderful care of the staff at OTMH. Born in 1934, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.  Chemist, war survivor, entrepreneur & patriarch.

Devoted husband to Andrea, his beloved departed wife of 58 years.  Loved father of his three sons Bert (Nikki), Ashley (Marie-Claude), Dwight and the late Jennifer Trapman.  Cherished grandfather of Andrew.  Dear brother of John and sister-in-law Yvonne and their beloved family Yvette, John-David, Didi, Mimi, and Audwin.

Peter grew up in Amsterdam and endured the war years while under occupation, following which he spent several years in Switzerland, before accompanying his father on a business trip in Canada. Thrilled with Canada, he stayed behind and met his future wife Andrea Rankin at Albert College.  Peter graduated from McMaster University, Hamilton in 1957 with a science degree following which he started a long and successful career in the Chemical Industry with CIL, CCC & DCC.

In 1990 Peter Founded Inmat Canada Inc. A company which supplied specialty chemicals to numerous industries in Canada, USA, South America & The Pacific Basin. He lived his customers and companies interest for 27 years before considering retirement.

Married since 1957 to his beloved Andrea, it was a lifelong close knit partnership with plenty of moves and adventures across Canada and many overseas business and pleasure trips.

Sailing was his passion, racing "Brothers Three" at both The Oakville Club & OYS for over 40 years.  Many lifelong friends were made sailing as well as in business.  The gentlemanly sport of fly fishing was enjoyed with long time business friends at the same location for well over 40 years.

A memorial service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025, with a brief visitation at 10am, followed by a reception after the service at Knox.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to The Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital .
