Peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family, at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Monday, February 4, 2019. He was surrounded by the love of his family until the very end when he succumbed to his battle with ALS and COPD at the age of 80.  Peter leaves his loving wife and best friend, Martha of 50 years. Loving father of William, Ronnie (Matthew) and proud and loving Deda of Alexia. He will be sadly missed by his family and many adoring friends and neighbours in Oakville where he lived for over 30 years.

Peter was born in Kosovo, Serbia. He left home at 14 years old and lived in Belgrade where he trained as a Glazier, then Paris upon immigrating to Canada in 1966 at the age of 28. He applied his trade as a Glazier and was a proud member of the International Union Painters and Allied Trades, Local 1819. He soon discovered the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1967, the year they won the Stanley Cup. He has been a devoted fan of the sport and of his beloved Leafs ever since, and proudly wore his Leafs jacket. Peter will be remembered for all of his stories and always keeping us entertained.

He had such a strong passion for life, always considering the needs of others first and could light up a room with his smile. A kind and gentle soul who loved socializing and could always be seen walking outside in the neighbourhood. Peter loved his flower garden, his tomatoes, zucchini and homemade Ajvar (roasted red pepper sauce) which he gave to others graciously.

The family would like to thank the Doctors, staff and a very special thank you to the Nurses of 3 South at the OTMH for all their care and compassion offered over the last few weeks of Peter's life. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the OTMH and to ALS Canada would be appreciated by the family.

Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Thursday February 7, 2019. Funeral mass will be held at Holy Transfiguration Serbian Monastery, 7470 McNiven Road, Campbellville, Ontario at 11 am on Friday February 8, 2019. Interment St. Volodymyr Cemetery, Oakville.
