We are saddened to announce the passing of Petar Dragicevic on July 9, 2021 at OTMH at the age of 81. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Jovanka (nee Andic), and three daughters Veseljka (Cedo) Radinovic, Radmila (George) Preocanin, Gordana (Douglas) Miller, grandchildren Aleksandar, Milica, Daniel, Steven, Christopher, Kira and Hunter. He leaves behind his sister Anica (Ilija) Maglov in Serbia, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, kumovi and friends in Canada and abroad.

Petar is predeceased by his parents Petar and Stana, brother Mile (Ika), Sisters, Andja (Dusan) Lazic, Ika, Smilja (Djuro) Andic, Mara, and niece Gordana Maglov.

Petar was born on April 2, 1940 in Turic, former Yugloslavia before immigrating to Oakville in 1965, with his wife and two young daughters, joining his late inlaws Djuro and Ika Andic. He was a retired, proud aluminum and pressure vessels welder. He had a passion for reading about history, mainly Serbian and the Balkans, and discussing it with family and friends. He enjoyed watching soccer, whether it was the local Oakville White Eagles team of years past, or the World Cup. He would listen to folk music or watch western movies and tv shows, whether new or old, while sipping on his homemade wine.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to the entire 5 Centre medical team at OTMH for the excellent care that Petar received in the weeks he spent there before passing peacefully.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church where he was a respected, founding member.

Visitation will take place at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd W. Oakville on July 13, 2021. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter and Paul Serbian Church Oakville July 14, 2021 at 11:00 am with burial to follow.
