Passed away at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the age of 83 after a long illness. Beloved wife of Frank for 57 and ½ happy years and dear mother of Betty-Ann Fraser (Tony), Dartmouth NS and Bruce Hammond (Sheri), London ON. Doting grandmother of twins Connor and Tyler Hammond. Pat will also be sorely missed by her sister Marion Snell and several nieces and nephews and her many friends in Toronto, Oakville and Western Canada. She was born on a farm south of Wapella, Saskatchewan and received her nursing degree in the Grey Nuns Hospital in Regina. She worked at her nursing degree in Indian Head, Mankota and Regina before marrying Frank and settling down to manage her home and raise her family, first 9 years in Regina (not realizing that it wouldn't be permanent) then 10 years in Calgary, 3 years in Saskatoon, 4 years in Halifax and finally 10 years in Toronto before retiring to Oakville in 1986. Pat loved travelling and they did a lot of it and loved her golf at Lambton Golf and Country Club and loved bridge. The family would like to thank Dr. T. Stanton and the excellent nursing care she received at the above hospital for the past 4 months. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Monday February 8, 2010 at Saint Dominic Roman Catholic Church, 2415 Rebecca Street, Oakville (between Third Line and Bronte Road). Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Dominic Church or to the charity of your choice. Frank and the family would like to thank all those who sent get well cards to Pat during her illness or called to wish her well. It's hard to put into words how much these meant to Pat and the family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
