IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pamela
Deslongchamps
April 17, 1953 – May 18, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the incomparable Pamela Deslongchamps (nee Hornby), on May 18, 2023 at the age of 70.
Pamela is survived by her devoted and loving husband Marc. Her legacy will carry on in her children Corinne and Alison (Alex) and her grandchildren Ethan and Nora. She will be dearly missed by her brother Jim (Mary-Anne), nephew Christopher (Amanda), niece Sarah (Kyle) and in spirit, her late nephew Jonathan.
Born in Jarrow, England on April 17, 1953, Pamela is predeceased by her parents Albert and Olive Hornby. Their family immigrated to Canada in 1964 and settled in Oakville. In 1973 Pamela met Marc while working at Merrill Lynch in Toronto as a secretary, they married August 14, 1976. In 1984 Pamela was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at the age of 31. She was a force of nature, despite the many challenges that came with the disease, she would go on to raise her girls without missing a beat. Her coordination was impeccable, she was always ready to show off her juggling skills or take you on in a game of ping pong. She was an active member of her sorority Beta Sigma Phi, she enjoyed trips to cottage country in summer and many special winters spent at the Maple Leaf community in Port Charlotte, Florida where she was the queen of the dance floor.
Her fight was extraordinary, defying all odds stacked against her, especially in her final years. Pamela was a loyal friend, inspiring those that knew her, forever. She will be so greatly missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of Pamela's beautiful life will take place at Knox Presbyterian Church, 89 Dunn St. Oakville, ON L6J 3C8 on June 2nd at 11:00am. Reception to follow at the church. Family and friends are invited to attend. Special thanks to the Movement clinic at Toronto Western Hospital. Donations in Pam's memory can be made to
