Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at the Oakville –Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, with her family at her side. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Piccinin. Precious mother to JoAnne and Brent Longmoore of Oakville and Linda and Anthony Corsetti of Thornhill. Norma was the much loved and cherished "Noni" to grandchildren Mark, Alana, Laura, Kate and Joseph. She will also be remembered fondly by nephew Sergio (Sheila) Piccinin of Ottawa and nephew Vasco (Agnes) Piccinin of Sudbury. Norma was predeceased by brothers Archie and Gino Della Vedova. Born in Creighton Mines Ontario, Norma spent her formative years in Italy before returning to Sudbury. In marriage Norma settled in the Gatchell area, later in Lockerby. Norma always had a strong presence in the Sudbury community; heading up the CWL and holding numerous executive positions with the Caruso Club. Norma was also one of the first female members of the Caruso Club Italian Choir, with whom she enjoyed years of traveling and spreading the joy of song to people in places around the world. Her last few years were spent in Oakville where she enjoyed life with her family and the successes of all her grandchildren. Norma continued to make friends, even into her golden years. She leaves behind, many good friends at Queens Avenue Retirement Residence and Post Inn Village. Special thanks to the nursing staff in the Renal Unit and also on 4 East at O.T.M.H. for all their care and support. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mary Mother of God Roman Catholic Church, 2745 North Ridge Trail, Oakville on Monday, August 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
