Kirkpatrick, Norma Pryde (nee. Stewart)

December 6 ^th , 1939 - May 27 ^th , 2022

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Norma Kirkpatrick, surrounded by her loving family,  at home in The Waterford Retirement Residence on May 27 ^th , 2022. Beloved wife of Bill for 59 years, much loved mother of Sandi Wright (Dave) and Hunter Kirkpatrick (Sherrie), proud grandmother of Heather Wright (Sahil). Norma was looking forward to greeting her great grandchild in October. Survived by her much loved brother, Iain Stewart (Marion). She will be missed by her surviving cousins and lifelong friends in Scotland and her many friends she met, during travels with Bill, Kinettes, gardening, Scottish Country Dancing, volunteering, and playing in several bridge marathons in Pointe Claire and Oakville. Norma began her career in the records section of A.B.R.O. (Animal Breeding Research Organization) where Dolly, the sheep, was later cloned. Bill and Norma were married in 1963. Norma emigrated from Scotland with her family to Canada in 1967, and spent 10 years in Pointe Claire before re-emigrating to Oakville in 1977. In 1984 Bill and she moved onto half an acre of land where Norma "The Garden Goddess" came into her own, developing a passion for gardening. She achieved a massive transformation and created a "Heaven on Earth" becoming a "Master Gardener"  in all but title. Annual themed garden parties and garden tours were enjoyed by many and she looked forward to hosting them. Visitation will take place on Thursday 2 ^nd . June from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home at 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville. Funeral service will be held on Friday 3 ^rd . June at 11 a.m. at Kopriva.
