It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Nikola "Nick" Preradovic on July 21st, 2025 in Oakville, Ontario, at the age of 91.

Born on August 8, 1933, in Zemun, Serbia, Nick lived a life defined by curiosity, compassion, and dedication. A devoted physician, he cared for countless patients over the decades, practicing medicine well into his eighties. Known throughout the community as a beloved family doctor, he had a gift for making time for everyone — often lingering to chat with patients long after appointments were done, while his children patiently (and sometimes not-so-patiently) waited.

Beyond his medical career, Nick embraced life with passion and enthusiasm. He was an avid glider pilot well into his 70s, finding freedom in the skies. He had a deep love of wine and an endless fascination with the history and politics, always eager to share his knowledge.

Nick leaves behind his loving sons, Ognjen (Michael) Preradovic (Sharon) and Peter Preradovic (Lisa), who will carry forward his legacy of warmth, wit, and kindness.

He touched so many lives and will be remembered not only for his dedication as a physician but also for his spirit, his stories, and the way he made people feel truly seen and cared for.

A celebration of Nick's life will be held at a later date.
