Passed away peacefully in his 85th year on Friday September 27,2013 surrounded by his family at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Nick leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years Sheila and his children Chris (Brad), Cheryl(Frank) and Steven (Lisa). Grandpa will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Danielle, Alex, Ryan, Connor, Trevor and Jacob. Predeceased by his granddaughter Sarah and his sister Ans van de Meulen. Nick was an avid skier and golfer and was a longtime dedicated volunteer in many organizations including Scouts Canada and the CMA. Special thanks to Drs. Strang and McPhaden and all of the staff at Oakville Hospital for the special care they gave him. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9pm Monday at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (905) 844-2600) A Service of Remembrance will be held in the Kopriva Taylor Chapel at 11am Tuesday, October 1, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
