Obituary

Passed away with the dignity he deserved in his eighty-seventh year. Beloved husband of 61 years and best friend to Margaret; devoted father to daughter Laurel, sons Philip (Debbie), Howard (Brenda) and James (Lynne); cherished grandfather of Elisabeth (Michael), Jonathan and Robin. Predeceased by his son Robbie, his sister Mary and his brother Bill. Retired Director of Purchasing for the Continental Can Company. Served in World War II as Flying Officer RCAF, Att. 200 Squadron RAF, 1942-45, SE Asia – B24 Liberators. Promoted to Squadron Leader following the war. A mathematician's mind with a carpenter's hands, a respected businessman with an artist's heart for oil-painted landscapes, carved wooden birds and fine-crafted furniture. Thank you to all those who cared for him, including the staff of Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Funeral Service to be held Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at The Church of the Epiphany, 141 Bronte Rd. in Oakville, just north of Lakeshore Road. Reception to follow. Interment Service for family only at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Warplane Heritage, 9280 Airport Road, Mount Hope, Ontario
