It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Nicholas Albert Haneke at his home on March 22, 2023 at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Wendy Haneke (née Purse), loving father of Elle and Katie (Michael) and cherished GaGa to his grandson, Nathan. His family was so special to him and he will be greatly missed by them. Animals were always an important part of his life and his two cats, Jasmine and Sheldon, will feel the loss of his quiet companionship. He enjoyed gardening and was looking forward to spring planting. Nick will be remembered as an avid reader, dedicated chess player, talented woodworker, carver and painter. Several peoples' homes display some of his creative works. He also was fond of telling stories to his daughters when they were young and, more recently, to his grandson.

A private service has taken place at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to may make a memorial contribution to Shades of Hope Wildlife Refuge .
