It is with great sadness that we announce that Nestor Yakimik passed away peacefully at home on September 21 at the age of 86.  He is now with his darling wife Penny who passed away in 2021.

Nestor was the beloved father to William and Kathryn and wonderful father-in-law to Barbara and Peter.

Nestor was also a loving and kind fur-grandpa to Flour, Daisy, Charlie, Nugget, Mocha and Benny.

Nestor was a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 114,  a volunteer with the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum and a volunteer with the Altruist's of Oakville.

Nestor was a passionate CFL fan and especially loved watching the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.  Fittingly, they won the night he passed away.  He also loved the Toronto Blue Jays (better luck next season), curling and golf.

We would like to thank the PSWs and nurses, especially Sophia and Stacy, from ParaMed who helped Nestor stay in his house until the end of his life.
We would also like expresses our thanks to Lisa Nagatakiya, Community Care Coordinator for her amazing support and Dr. Malik for her compassionate care.

There will be a Celebration of Life in the future.
