IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Neil Joseph
Kennedy
April 21, 1946 – April 13, 2025
It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Neil Kennedy on April 13th, 2025 - just 8 days shy of his 79th birthday.
Neil was the best Dad and Grandpa. He was happiest when hanging out with family and laughing with his granddaughters. Neil was known for his sharp wit and sense of humour. He loved getting the final jeopardy question right and commenting on politics on Twitter. Neil often brought a smile to those around him, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Neil is survived by his best bud and cat Larry, his children Jennifer (Andrew), Michael (Fabiana) and his two granddaughters, Maria Victoria and Riley Rose, who were truly his greatest joy. Neil was the son of the late D'Arcy and Eileen Kennedy, brother to Denis Kennedy (Lin), the late Patty Bethune (Ray), and the late Mary-Ellen Byczynski (Walter). Neil will also be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Jennifer and Michael would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to their mom, Juliet, for always providing her love and support, especially during this difficult time.
Neil received a liver transplant in October 2006, giving us over 18 bonus years together. We are forever grateful to the individual and their family who made the courageous choice to give the gift of life through organ donation. Neil overcame many health challenges over the years, and our family would like to acknowledge his resilience and determination to be an important part of all the big milestones in our lives and, most importantly, meeting and loving his granddaughters.
We would like to thank all of Neil's longtime doctors, especially Dr. Puglia and Dr. Heffernan, as well as the amazing nurses and doctors at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for their care.
Dad, our Sunday dinners will never be the same. We will always have a place for you at the table with a Diet Pepsi and a slice of lime.
Missing you always and forever.
In lieu of flowers, we invite you to honour Neil's memory by doing any of the following;
