Peacefully with his loving family by his side on Sunday, May 4th, 2008, at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital at the age of 82. Beloved and treasured husband of Pina for 48 years. Cherished and devoted father to Grace (Maria Broderick), and Diana (Steve Martin). Loving brother to Carmela Carbone, predeceased (Ricardo, predeceased), Maria DeBellis (Pasquale, predeceased), Immacolata Ancona (Frank), Nilla Palumbo (Frank), Mina Mazzilli (Vince, predeceased), Pietro Pastore (Melina) and Josephine Visentin (Tony, prececeased). Also, uncle, great-uncle and great-great-uncle to a multitude of nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a 'very special thank you' to Dr. C. Petrea, the 'amazing' staff of 4 East and 1 East at the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital for their 'extra special' care given to 'Papa Pastore'. Mike made his career with and was a long time employee (retiree) of the Ford Motor Company in Oakville. After his early retirement his passion for cars continued and he took a part time job at the Toronto Auto Auction which he was a part of until just a couple of years ago. His perfectionist ways, unconditional love to his family, always giving, helping and putting everyone else first, is what made him so extra special. The family will receive friends at the Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. West in Oakville (one block east of Kerr Street, 905-844-2600) on Wednesday, May 7 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 231 Morden Rd., Oakville (south of Mary St. and north of Rebecca St.) on Thursday, May 8 at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens, Oakville (Dundas and Ninth Line). In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made to the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society.
