Michael Joseph Rooney was born on October 6th 1932. He grew up with four siblings: Mary, Bridget, Patricia, and Danny. He had six children early in his life: Michael, Paul, Brian, David, Jeannine, and Peter, and he adored being their father. In the Air Force, Mike took electronics courses, and when he returned to civilian life he built a business from the ground up, running a successful stereo store, and installing sound systems. In 1973, Mike met the love of his life, Angie (née Bock), and for the last 49 years they have been inseparable. In addition to his family, Mike loved his parish community and was very active with the Knights of Columbus, where he was a 3rd degree knight. He loved a good round of golf, particularly with his nephew Rick, whom he normally trounced in their games, even if Rick cheated. In the winter months, Mike was an avid skier; on the slopes nobody could catch up with him. Mike loved a good party with a glass in his hand, and was always the last to leave. He had an insatiable zest for being with people. Mike passed away peacefully early in the morning on Thursday, August 18th, 2022, and his funeral mass will be on Tuesday, August 23rd at 11:00 at St. James Catholic Parish in Oakville.
