Obituary

Michael Robert Ogilvie (Oggy) passed away suddenly on Sunday January 10, 2016. He leaves behind his Son Wesley, Mother Joan and late Father Harold, Brother David and his wife Adrienne, his dear friend Erin, nieces Madeline, Melissa and Paige and his dog Gigi and cat Masi. Michael was a Master Electrician licenced with the ESA and operated his company Ogilvie Electric. His passion was power boating and sailing. Michael was a Bronte Harbour Yacht club member and would race with his friends several times a week. He enjoyed taking his power boat named Lorna Doone to Toronto island, Burlington Beach and to fish, often with his dog Gigi in tow. He sailed many parts of the world and won many prestigious races. He was planning a sailing adventure to the Pacific Ocean summer 2016. He loved to fish and loved to brag about the Mahi Mahi he caught to cook for dinner as he was an outstanding chef. Mike felt most alive and free while on the water. He was fearless, kind to all people he met, had a great sense of humor and a smile that was contagious. He had a heart of gold. Michael's proudest accomplishment was his son Wesley. He always spoke of his gift for playing hockey as a Defensemen. Together they enjoyed boating and fishing and spending time at their favourite restaurants; Hibachi and 7 Eleven. A service will be held for Michael Ogilvie on Wednesday January 20, 2016 at 11:00am at Hopedale Presbyterian Church. 156 Third Line in Oakville. There will be a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Wesley Ogilvie Trust Fund. A donations box will be provided at the service or a cheque payable to Wesley Ogilvie may be given to the family at any time, which will be held in trust.
