With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Mike McKay, who passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, at Oakville Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was 87 years old.

Mike was the devoted husband of Jennifer for 64 wonderful years, a bond filled with love, laughter, and shared memories. He was a cherished father to David (Lisa), Gill (Brian), and Ian (Pauline), and a much-loved Grandad to his eight grandchildren—Michael, Patrick, Liam, Sinead, Craig, Kyle, Jonathan, and Andrew—each of whom he was immensely proud. He was also a Great-Grandfather to Brooklynn and little Ava.

Born in Manchester, England, Mike moved to Canada in 1977 with Jennifer and their three children after being transferred through his work. Though far from home, he never lost his love for his favorite football club, Manchester United—and never failed to have an opinion about the referees. He also enjoyed playing golf, but above all, Mike found his greatest joy in time spent at home and in the company of his family.

Mike was a quiet and gentle soul, always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be deeply missed, but the happy memories we hold of him will remain in our hearts forever.
