GARVEY, Ronald Michael

Mike passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4th at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. Mike is survived by his wife of 66 years Pat, brother John, daughters Robin and Christie and grandchildren Quinn, Kate, Olivia and Alex.

Mike was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on December 17th, 1937 to Joseph and Marjorie Garvey. He met his future wife Pat in high school.

In 1965, Mike was offered a job at Sherritt Gordon Mines and moved to Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta along with Pat and their young daughter. A few months later a second daughter was
born.

A promotion to the head office brought the family to Toronto in 1974, where they settled in Oakville. Mike's work gave him the opportunity to travel all over the world, from Siberia to Australia, where he met and made many friends along the way.

Back in Oakville, Mike's love of golf led to his appointment as President of the Oakville Golf Club and another community of good friends.

The early 90's saw semi-retired Mike and Pat move to Punta Gorda, Florida where more life long friends were made. After 12 years in Florida, it was time to retire and split their time between their homes in Oakville and Chapala, Mexico and full-time golf life began.

To honour his wishes, there will be a small private family service.
