Born in 1943 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Mary was the daughter of John McCann and Sarah Rooney. She pursued a career in hairdressing and became a top stylist at She She in Belfast, a time she treasured and often spoke about with fondness. It was at the Top Hat Ballroom in Lisburn that Mary met John, the love of her life. Their beautiful journey together led them to marriage on March 4, 1969, and soon after, they made the bold decision to immigrate to Canada, eventually making their home in Burlington, Ontario.
Mary was known for her elegance, kindness, and generous spirit. She welcomed everyone with warmth and hospitality, expressing her love through her incredible cooking and baking. More than anything, she was a devoted wife and mother, raising her family with unwavering dedication, grace, and a heart full of love.
