Passed peacefully at Amica Retirement Home in her 93rd year.  Mary is survived by her sister, Patsy, of Bedale, England; her daughters Elizabeth Leafhead; Susan Leafhead and her daughter Stephanie; and Cathy Chimenti and her husband Dan and their children Carolyn, Ryan, Sara, Patrick and Laura. She was predeceased by her first husband, Bernie Leafhead (1983) and by her second husband, Jack Povey (2010).
Mary was originally a lab technician for the Blood Transfusion Services in England and the Canadian Red Cross in Canada before changing careers and teaching with the Peel Board of Education for 23 years until her retirement in 1994.
Mary will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her many loving family members and friends.
Celebration of life was held at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home in Oakville on August 1, 2023.  In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in Mary's name would be greatly appreciated by the family.
