Mary Susan (Park) Doxey: April 28, 1939 – June 1, 2023

Family and friends of Mary Doxey are heartbroken with her passing at the age of 84. Mary was the proud mother of Jennifer (Ceri), Cathy (Ron) and Jane (Bruce). She was loved by grandchildren Carly (Jamie), Kelsey, Christopher and Elaine, and great-grandchildren Ivy and Ronan. Mary was predeceased by her father Robert (1954), her mother Margorie (1955) and sister Martha (2004).

Mary was a soft spoken, kind and gentle person. She was a teacher in Amherstburg and Essex County. She later lived in Oakville for more than 30 years.

Until her death at 84, Mary had a sharp mind, and enjoyed keeping up with family and friends on her iPad. She was proud that she still drove and frequently took her neighbours grocery shopping. She was a habitual daily walker – it was her "policy" to greet everyone she passed in her walks.

Mary was a person who lived without pretense, with simple tastes and pleasures. She loved family dinners, and watching her great grandchildren play. She loved nature and animals – especially dogs. Her faith gave her much comfort; she was a member of Trafalgar Presbyterian Church for decades.

While we are so sad to have lost our mom so suddenly, we are also grateful for having had her as long as we did, how she was able to remain independent, and mostly for who she was as a person - and all the things she taught us about life and living. All of her daughters take pride in emulating her strength and independence, and will miss her terribly.
