Peacefully at home with her family at her side on Thursday, February 24, 2011 in her 88th year. Born in Bellevue, Alberta April 16, 1923. Beloved wife of Roy Clare Brown for over 65 years. Much loved mom to Clare Brown and Margaret Johnstone of Cambridge and Connie and Paul Morris of Oakville. Proud Granny to Michael and Sarah Brown of Corning, N.Y., Jeff Morris of Timmins, Ontario, Cameron and Chantelle Brown of Ear Falls, Ontario and Cheryl Morris of Kingston, Ontario. Proud Great-Granny of Ashley, Isabelle, Emily and Cassandra Brown and Rachelle and Kate Brown. Sister to Patricia Trickett, Oakville. Pre-deceased by brother Austin Bathie. She will be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Louise Brown and family as well as the Levick family in the West Kootenays of B.C. Mom loved the mountains of British Columbia having grown up in Rossland and loved to go west to see them and to visit family and friends. She and Dad took their trailer all over Canada for over 30 years and have many wonderful memories. Mom loved to have her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren around her and always took an interest in their activities. She enjoyed playing bridge immensely and made many friends playing in various bridge clubs over the years. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service celebrating Mary's life will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600), Oakville at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2011. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Kidney Foundation.
