IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marilyn Ann
Paterson
October 27, 1952 – February 19, 2023
Forever and Always in our Hearts
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Paterson, who left our world unexpectedly on February 19, 2023, at the age of 70.
Marilyn leaves behind her loving husband Scott, and her two children Stephanie (predeceased, Steve) and Justin (Jocelyn). Proud grandmother to Emersyn.
Marilyn was born on October 27, 1952 in Georgetown Guyana, to the late Rita and Rudy Rodriguez, and was the cherished eldest sibling of Wayne, Debbie (predeceased, Tom), Brian (Celeste), Corinne, Paul (Bonnie) and Wendy (predeceased, Steve). Marilyn leaves behind many adored nieces, nephews, and extended family.
After immigrating to Canada and upon meeting her husband, Marilyn and Scott settled in Oakville, Ontario, where she enjoyed a long career at the Town of Oakville.
Marilyn was regal by nature, enjoying tea, scones, and all things related to British and Scottish culture, especially Queen Elizabeth II. Most of all, she loved people; Marilyn's home was always open to family and friends and was the setting for many memorable gatherings during which she entertained with love, laughter, and (more recently) a little prosecco. Marilyn enjoyed spending summers making trips to the cottage, gardening, and traveling across Ontario to visit family and friends.
Marilyn's enormous presence in the lives of those who loved her will be greatly missed.
