Marilyn Jeanne Franks, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 3, 2025 at London Extendicare.

Marilyn was born January 25, 1931 in Detroit Michigan. She grew up in Tillsonburg, Ontario and attended Victoria Hospital to study nursing.

She married John L. Townshend and moved to St. Catharines. There, she had Leslie Waychison (nee Townshend) and Michael Townshend.

Marilyn moved to Oakville in 1981, and began her work at Oakville Community Living. This work became her ultimate passion and she dedicated the rest of her working career there. She also met her true love, Ken Franks, there, and was happily married to him until his passing in 2008.

She is survived by her daughter Leslie and her son Michael and her brother Robert Milmine, as well as her grandchildren, Megan, Whitney, Anastasia, John Michael and Gabrielle and her great-grandaughter Livy (Olivia)and her son-in-law David Waychison.

Visitation will take place at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, On Sunday September 14, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ian Anderson House in Oakville.
