Marilyn Agnes Bertrand died in the early hours of January 27, 2026 with her family by her side.

Born at Toronto East General Hospital on November 22, 1934, Marilyn was the cherished only child of Dorothy Emeline Allin and John Victor Marks. Marilyn was the mother of Mark Jones (Claudia), Bruce Jones (Kelley), and Sue-Ann Ward (Jeff), and stepmother of Wendy Chambers (Bruce) and the late Nancy Lee (Anthony). Forty-three years ago, she married her beloved Milton Bertrand and warmly embraced his family.

Marilyn was the grandmother of Danielle Jackson (Justin), Michael Ward (Jennifer), Justine Luchini (Adam), Joshua Jones (Marcella), Jessica Martins (Andrew), Zachary Ward (Brittany), Jacob Jones (Rita), and Christopher Connolly. Her eyes sparkled with delight for her sixteen great-grandchildren: Maya, Evan, Dylan, Juniper, Hazel, Evelyn, Stella, Ellis, Anita, Aria, Cloe, James, Brighid, Evelyn, Henrik, and Fiona.

In her younger years, Marilyn worked in dental offices as a chairside assistant, receptionist, and office manager, where her gracious manner and capable hands brought comfort to many patients.

Marilyn had a deep and abiding love for animals. Cats and dogs were constant companions throughout her life, filling her home with joy and her heart with unconditional love. She found happiness in travelling with Milton, spending peaceful days at the cottage, losing herself in a good book, and expressing her creativity through various artistic pursuits.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Tansley Woods LTC Home for the tender and patient care Marilyn received. Their compassion and dedication brought comfort to Marilyn and her family during her final chapter.

Rest gently, dear Marilyn. Your love remains, woven into the fabric of your family.
