Obituary

Peacefully, and surrounded by family at West Oak Village LTC Centre in Oakville the night of Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Jack. Loved mother of Paul and wife Dominique of Moncton, the late Suzanne of Toronto and Michèle and husband Bob of Oakville. Cherished grandmother of Catherine, Zoë, Stephanie and Gabrielle. Born in Sturgeon Falls, Marie-Paule is survived by two sisters, Denise of Mississauga and Margot of Ottawa. Mom often spoke fondly of her mother Bernadette and father Edgar as well as her sisters and brothers Lucille, Gaston, Marcelle, Henriette, and Joseph.
Marie-Paule will be remembered for her constant devotion to her family and for the loving care with which she created her family's home. She was a wonderful and creative cook, avid reader and passionate gardener. Marie-Paule was a woman of considerable presence, style and poise, qualities that endured through to her final days. A simple belt, the turn of a scarf, a strand of pearls, a little lipstick she used with subtle grace. She will continue to be an inspiration to us every day.
The family would like to express our great thanks to the staff at Harbour House, West Oak Village for the long-term care they provided for Mom for more than two years. The family would like to offer our special thanks to Buena and to Flor who helped and provided companionship to Mom selflessly on a daily basis.
Visitation will take place at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville from 7-9pm Friday. A Service will be held at Saint Matthew Roman Catholic Church, 1150 Monk's Passage, Oakville on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery, Oakville. If desired, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family.
