Today we are gathered here to celebrate the life of a beautiful woman, Marica Cikic. We are saying goodbye, but we are also celebrating the many memories that she has bestowed upon all of us. Mara was born on My 18, 1953 in Sovijak, Republika Sepska.
Mara was the middle child of five girls. Jelen, the late Dragica, Jela, Smilja and their late brother Milorad. She is the daughter of our beloved grandparents Milan and Milka Malesevic and the late wife of Dragan Cikic. She is mother to Rosana and Natasha. Grandmother to Emma, Luka, Ana and Nikola (Bakin Mile).
Mara loved life to the fullest and never shyed away from a challenge . From surviving raising two strong minded daughters to making a new life in Canada, she always remained positive. Mara will be missed for her kind nature, her leadership abilities, her amazing culinary skills, her involvement in the Kolo Sestara where she was greatly appreciated , the most caring Baka who would spoil her grandchildren with her love and attention, patience and money. She was an ace at putting puzzles together and telling Natasha and I we are utting in the next piece, for always making everyone feel loved and feel important around her.
You have touched our lives and will never be forgotten. You will always be in our hearts, rest in peace.
God saw she was getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
so he put His arms around her
and whispered "Come with me."
With tearful eyes we watched her
suffer, and saw her fade away.
Although we loved her dearly, we
could not make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands put to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to
us, He only takes the best.
