Obituary

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Ria our loving and devoted mother and friend to those whose lives she touched on March 1, 2021 at the age of 81

Ria was a dedicated wife to Bernie and devoted mother first and foremost to her 3 children, Steven, Marcia and Scott.  She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them.  She especially loved her role as Oma to Nicholas, Tori, Jake, Spencer, Paris, Owen and Brayden.  She was a kind, gentle, loving soul who made everyone feel welcome.

Ria is predeceased by her husband Bernie and leaves behind her 3 children, Steven Carpenter (Krista), Marcia Molinaro (Frank) and Scott Carpenter (Tiffany).  Along with her beautiful grandchildren who she adored, Tori and Spencer Carpenter, Nicholas, Jakob and Paris Molinaro and Owen and Brayden Carpenter.  Beautiful sister to Anne Wessels-Boelens (predeceased) and Gerry Knowles

Her loss is felt by all those who loved her, from the countless friends and family but her passing brings her peace.    It is said a person never truly dies until the person with the last memory of her dies.  Ria touched so many that she will live among us all for a very long time.

Due to COVID restrictions, visitation with be held by appointment only at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville on Thursday March 4, 2021.  The link to register is at the top of this page.

A private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Friday March 5, 2021 which will be Livestreamed  at 11 am for those that wish to participate online.  You will find the link to join at the top of this page.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
