Died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, March 30, 2020 after fighting a long battle with Alzheimers' at the Burloak Seniors Long Term Care Home. Rita joins her adoring husband Ben who passed away in 2013. She is survived by her loving daughters Anne, Mary-Jane, Pauline and Jennifer and her beloved son Michael and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rita came to Canada with her new husband and baby Anne from Holland in 1956, leaving both their large extended families behind and coming to the New World after the war. Her family eventually settled in Oakville where Rita enjoyed entertaining friends and family at their home. They took pleasure in singing with the St.Andrews Choir where they made many happy memories and friendships. They travelled extensively throughout North America and visited many exotic countries.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Burloak Seniors Long Term Care home in Burlington for their loving care and support for Rita, helping her live with dignity and providing compassionate care throughout her final years. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Alzheimers Society of Canada.
