Peacefully passed away in her
98th year at Oakville-Trafalgar
Memorial Hospital on February 12,
2014. She will be fondly
remembered and sadly missed.
She was predeceased in 1978
by her husband Pietro Devito.
She was the loving mother
of Nicoletta (Vito) Geronimo,
Damiana (Luigi) Scotta, Rocco
(Christina) Devito, Joseph Devito
and the proud grandmother
of Maria Luisa (Joseph)
Bardaro, Ralph (Michela)
Geronimo, Shawna (Sam) Salvo,
Lisanne (Gary) Quedado, Peter
(Erin) Devito, Frank Devito,
Alexander Devito, Daniel Devito,
Kayla Devito and also blessed
with 10 great-grandchildren,
Gabrielle, Samuel, Jacob, Julian,
Luca, Victoria, Siena, Nicholas,
Alessia, and Lauren. Maria
Luisa was born in Toritto,
Bari, Italy, April 30, 1916 and
immigrated to Oakville with her
husband Pietro and children in
1965. She came from a family of
eight and leaves behind three
siblings in Toritto, Italy; Vita
Raguseo, Francesco Raguseo
and Michele Raguseo and one
sister in Oakville Pina Pastore.
She will be lovingly remembered
by many nieces, nephews and
extended family in Italy, Canada
and the USA. A heartfelt thank
you to her primary caregiver
Nicoletta (Vito) Geronimo whom
she resided with and to the
nurses on 1E who tended to her
care. Visitation will be held at
the Kopriva Taylor Community
Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore
Road West, Oakville, from 2-4
and 6-9 p.m. on Monday,
February 17, 2014. Funeral
service 11:30 a.m. Tuesday,
February 18, 2014 at St. James
Parish, 231 Morden Road,
Oakville and interment to follow
at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery on
Dundas Street, Oakville. Email
