It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Dacko, beloved, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Maria passed away peacefully on December 24th, 2023.

Born on February 25th, 1951, in Manchester, England, She was a much loved wife to Stephen Dacko for 51 years. She was a devoted daughter to Nastunia and Miroslaw Lesniowski and sister to Andrew.  Also, a loving mother to her three children: Michael (Kayla), Adrian (Cecilia), and Larissa (Conor). Maria was also a cherished grandmother to four grandchildren: Catherine, Constantine, Andrew, and Helena. She held a special place as the dearly loved Godmother to Joanna Bennet.

Maria was a remarkable woman known for her extraordinary talent in knitting, embroidery, cooking, and baking. Her skillful hands created beautiful pieces of art that not only showcased her creativity but also served as cherished gifts to those fortunate enough to receive them. Maria's passion for these crafts and her animals was a reflection of the love and warmth she poured into every aspect of her life.

In addition to her artistic talents, Maria was a loving and devoted wife. Her partnership with Stephen was a testament to enduring love and commitment, spanning 51 years of shared joys and challenges. Together, they created a home filled with love and support, providing a strong foundation for their family.

As we remember Maria Dacko, let us celebrate the beautiful moments she shared with her family and the enduring legacy of love and compassion she leaves behind. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were touched by her presence.

Funeral Service will be held at St Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic 300 River Oaks Blvd, East Oakville, at 11am followed by burial at St. Volodymyr Cemetery.
