It is with a great sense of loss that we announce the sudden passing of Margaret Leslie (Westers), who passed away peacefully at the age of 98 in the early hours of January 6, 2022.

Born January 13, 1923 in Utrecht, Holland where she grew up and lived through World War 2 with her family, the oldest of three children.

She met her husband Frank, a Canadian soldier, shortly after WW 2 ended and they shared a story book, whirlwind romance. They were married in Utrecht on January 10, 1946 and moved to Canada where they lived their happy lives in and around Oakville.

They were devoted to each other for 53 years and were loving parents to their three children. They were both very involved with the Knights of Columbus. Frank passed away in 1999 at the age 76.

Margaret remained a devoted and loving Mother to Jo-Ann Morrison, Bill Leslie(Bonita) and Maureen Fawcett(Chris) and a loving grandmother to Kristin, Darrell(Brittany), Aaron, Kyle(Nina),Misha (Lisa), Brandon and Seth. She was great grandmother to Jack, Drake, Luke and David.

Margaret is survived by her brother Wilhelm (Wim), sister Annie and her niece and nephews in Holland.

Margaret was of very strong opinion and always spoke her mind, which remained with her until her final days.

Margaret loved to travel and took great joy in her many trips back to Holland to visit with her family.

A celebration of her life will be held in the spring when family and friends are able to gather safely, given the state of the world today.
