IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Manuel De
Lima
September 25, 1935 – March 18, 2024
Manuel De Lima, a beacon of love and strength, peacefully passed away, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family, on March 18th. He was a devoted husband to Dina, loving father to George and Fatima (who awaited him patiently in heaven), and a beloved father-in-law to Lisete and Frenchie. He took immense pride in being a grandfather to Jenny, Caitie, Chrissy, their spouses, and great-grandfather to Natalie and Owen. He was also a cherished brother to Maria, Fernanda, and Jose, a devoted Catholic and loyal friend.
Manuel found joy and passion in nurturing his garden, tending to his fruit trees and grapevine, and tirelessly working on his beloved family home where many family and friends would gather for celebrations and feasts. He spent many evenings cozied up in his favourite lazy boy, watching some of his favourite shows like Wheel of Fortune or Family Feud. His sweet tooth was legendary, and he took great delight indulging in carrot cake and chocolate chip cookies, and he could never turn down an opportunity to go to the Mandarin.
Above all else, Manuel's heart overflowed with love and devotion to his family and loyal circle of friends. He will be deeply missed, leaving behind a void that can never be filled.
As he embarks on his journey in heaven, reunited with his daughter and all those who have gone before him, we find joy in the memories we've shared.
Manuel, Pai, Avo … Until we meet again our sweet angel, may you walk freely with peace in heaven. We love you forever and you are deeply missed.
Thank you for taking the time to read about how much we loved Manuel, as we know many of you did as well - your support and kindness during this difficult time are deeply appreciated.
In honour of Manuel's memory, we kindly request that in lieu of flowers, and if you so choose, that a donation can be made to the
Lupus Foundation
(a cause close to his heart) or a charity of your choice.
