IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maj. The
Reverend Canon Robert Joseph Fead
November 27, 1963 – April 30, 2018
It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the death of Robert on Monday, April 30 th , 2018. Deeply missed and forever cherished by his best friend and beloved wife Veronica, mother Marie (aka Pat), sister Kathleen (Ben), brother James, sister in law Beverly (Devin), brother in law Randy (Bailey), and four legged companions Sebastian and Missy. Rob was a loving and supportive billet parent to Mathew and Christopher Maione and proud uncle to Kimberlee (Matthew), Karrie (Lou), Sydney and Cameron. Rob will be affectionately remembered by all who were blessed to know him.
Rob was called to Ministry at a young age and served the Anglican Diocese of Canada faithfully with love and compassion for twenty five years. He cast a wide net in his ministry and in his life; it included everyone, from the hard right to the ardently liberal. He brought people together from all facets of life and he challenged those around him to do the same. His energy was unbounding; everyone who knew him was touched by his abundant wisdom and ever-present humor. His ministry went beyond the borders of the church; some of his many roles included serving as Chaplain for The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (Princess Louise's), President of the St. Catharines Alzheimer's Society, Chaplain for the St. Catharines Fire Department, and Senior Chaplain for 31 Canadian Brigade Group.
He supported and enjoyed all Toronto sports teams – a sure measure of his faith! He was passionate about motorcycling and belonged to the Golden Horseshoe Family Riding Club. Rob was an adventurous thrill seeker; he enjoyed skiing, took race car driving lessons, went bungee jumping and tolerated golf. He even took his wife Veronica skydiving on one of their first dates. Rob approached all aspects of life with zest and joy. Rob and Veronica reflected often on the abundant blessings they enjoyed. Together they enjoyed world travel, camping and hiking. They shared a love of Italian food and culture, and would dance in the kitchen while preparing their favorite Italian dishes.
Rob's spirit will live on through the hearts and lives of those he has touched and there are many. We offer a special thank you to the caring good samaritan who was at Rob's side as well as all first responders. We are grateful and blessed for the tremendous outpouring of love and support from the community, family, and friends.
