Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mae Alice Heath (nee Dorion) on June 23, 2023 at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in her 95th year surrounded by her loving family.  She was predeceased by her husband, Hubert "Shot" Heath, and her sisters Yvonne and Claudette.   Loving mother of Bob (Anne), Don (Christine) and Andy (Anne).  Cherished grandmother of Carolyn (Wayne), Greg (Stephanie), Sarah and Katie, great-grandmother of Jacob and Lauren.  Mae is survived by her sister, Loraine Begg, and extended family.

Mae was born in Toronto on February 21, 1929, the daughter of Alphonse and Violet (Rider) Dorion.   Mae graduated from Weston Collegiate and Vocational School in 1948 before moving to Oakville with her parents and sisters.  During her career Mae worked at Isotopes Canada, Halton & Peel Trust & Savings (later Canada Trust) and for the Town of Oakville in the Parks & Recreation Department and Building Department.

Mae had many interests including doll making, miniatures and gardening.   She and Shot enjoyed spending winters in Florida with family and later in Portugal.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Queens Avenue Retirement Residence, the nurses and doctors of Credit Valley Hospital ICU and the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

Funeral will take place on Monday, July 3, 2023 at St. John's United Church, 262 Randall St., Oakville at 11:00am followed by a reception at the church in Lusk Hall.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Mae's name can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
