Obituary

J. Lynn Hinchliffe (nee Whitlock) of Burlington (formerly London, Markham, East York) passed away into the loving arms of her Saviour, Jesus Christ at Joseph Brant Hospital on March 4, 2023.

Lynn was born in Toronto to parents Edward Whitlock and Jean Whitlock (nee Garratt). Loving spouse for over 49 years to Grant Hinchliffe. Proud mother of sons Brett (Jess) of Burlington and Tim (Tessa) Hinchliffe of North Canton, Ohio. Beloved sister to Pam Whitlock (Mississauga), Paula Whitlock (Stratford), Laurie (Paul) Wolford and Deb (Janet) Whitlock (B.C.); predeceased by Sandy (Brian) Askin and Judy Whitlock (B.C.) and Tom Whitlock (Jenny) Augusta, Georgia.

Cherished sister-in-law Jo-Anne (Bill) Burnett (Stouffville). Dear Aunt to nieces Ginny Lalonde (Mississauga), Maddy Lee (Ottawa), Andrea (Glen) Martin (Markham), Stephanie Burnett-Landry (Phil) (Ottawa) and Erica (Kevin) Wolford, Jessica (Evan) Southern, Joanna Bach (B.C.); and to nephews Mark (Lenore) Randy (Teresa) Spensley (B.C.), Thomas Lee (Toronto) and Derek (Bonnie) Burnett (Thailand).

Post secondary education included Ontario Bible College (B.R.E.) degree. Employment opportunities include:Crane Supply, Crown Life Insurance & Dr. M.Bently-Taylor (Toronto); Christian Children's Fund of Canada & Markham Missionary Church Nursery School (Markham); University Hospital (I.C.U. Admin) London.

Lynn's greatest satisfaction and reward came in varied vocal performances as a soloist, ladies trio, quartet, or choir member (Toronto, Markham, London, Burlington). It was never about shining a light on her performance, but rather pointing people to her first love, Jesus Christ.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will take place at Kopriva Taylor  Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. W., Oakville on Wednesday, March 8 from 7pm- 9pm  and Thursday, March 9 from 2 pm-4 pm and 7 pm-9 pm. Celebration service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church Burlington, 2458 St. Frances Dr. (Guelph Line), Burlington on Friday March 10, at 10 am.  The  service will be live streamed. Reception to follow.

If desired, memorial contributions to Calvary Baptist Church Burlington, Joseph Brant Hospital (Palliative Care) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
