Obituary

Passed away peacefully on June 14, 2022, at home in Oakville, Ontario after a courageous one year battle with brain cancer. She was 75 years old.

Predeceased by parents Hayward and Georgie Peckham (née Oland) of Sydney, Nova Scotia, husband John Edward (Jef) Feeney of Oakville, and sister Jane Campbell of Newmarket. Lyn is survived by her loving husband Richard and devoted children, Mark of Waterloo, Erin (Adam) and Tara of Toronto, stepsons Robert (Katrina) of Mississauga, and Michael (Georgia) of Nassau, Bahamas, and niece Sandy MacKenzie of Newmarket. Loving Nana to Jeff and Abby Feeney of Waterloo, and Olivia and Kylie Simms of Nassau.

Lyn grew up in Sydney, Nova Scotia, and after graduating from Mount Allison University moved West to pursue a career in Montreal and Toronto. She later moved to Oakville and became a full time mother to her three children. Lyn met her husband Richard in 2002 and there was an immediate bond as two Maritimers living many years in the big city. They shared many happy years together with family and friends, and enjoyed memorable trips throughout the world.

Lyn will always be remembered for her constant loyalty to family and friends: first and foremost her three children who were the pride of her life. She also immediately embraced Richard's sons as family and she was well loved by all.

Lyn was passionate about her beloved Siamese cats, golden retrievers and horses. Her favourite activity was to spend a day at the barn grooming and riding her horse, Sweetie, and going for a long hack along with her beloved golden, CJ.

Lyn was an active volunteer at the Women's Centre, Halton where she received her 10 year service pin from the Province of Ontario in 2020. Lyn was a wonderful ambassador to the world and made and kept friends wherever her life journey took her. She always had a wonderful smile and greeting for all who knew her and took a great interest in the lives of others. Lyn always saw the good in others and shared her enthusiasm for life and living with all.

A celebration of life will be held at a future time TBD. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
