Obituary

(A founding member of St. Michael's Catholic Church)

With great sadness, the Bisson family advises of the passing of our Dad, Lubin on July 2, 2011. Dad put his marriage to our Mom, Joan and the raising of our family above all else in life. Our love for him and our gratitude for the love, strength, wisdom and humour with which he raised us is immeasurable. The depth of our sorrow at his loss is surpassed by our joy at having shared our lives with such a tremendous husband and father. Lubin grew up in Glace Bay, NS and was a resident of Oakville since 1967. A retired employee of Ford Motor Company, Lubin previously enjoyed a stellar career playing hockey at the levels of Junior A and Senior A. He is survived by his cherished wife, Joan, and children and grandchildren: daughter Janice; son Lubin and Marie-Claude, Angeline and Victor; son Brian and Nicole, Abby and Mathew: son Mark and Erin, Tanner, Cole and Jagger: daughter Joan Dal Bianco and Rob, Joshua and Carling: son Guy and Karen, Clara and Sophia. Lubin is survived by his sisters Bernadette (Ed Ingham) and Rose (Dan McMullin) and predeceased by brothers Wilfred (Mary), Melvin (Doughie), Danny (Marie) and Father Cliff, and sisters Marg (Ed Driscoll), Theresa (Irwin McMaster) and Betty (Alec Chisholm). He is also survived by sisters-in-law Mary Christine, Sylvia (Tom Kovich), Gwen, Ruth (Ted Wilson) and by brothers-in-law Jack (Nola), Angus (Sylvia), Keith and Phillip (Norma) and predeceased by sisters-in-law Louise (Bill March) and Judy (Jim Toye). He was a favoured uncle to an extended family of nieces and nephews and a good friend to many. We are heartbroken but we celebrate the life he lived so well with wisdom, dignity, kindness and humour. Thank you to the staff at the Heart Function Clinic and the Dialysis Unit at OTMH. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600), Oakville on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral mass 11:00 am Thursday July 7, 2011 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 181 Sewell Drive, Oakville. Interment and reception to follow at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens, Ninth Line, Oakville.
