Beloved wife of Dan Solonynko of Oakville, passed away suddenly yet peacefully at home on Sunday, September, 21, 2008 at the age of 57. Luba will be deeply missed by her husband Dan of 38 years, her son John Solonynko (Ronda) of Los Angeles and her daughters Tamara Scheiwiller (Marco) of Calgary and Stephanie Solonynko of Oakville. Luba will also be missed by her granddaughters Ava Scheiwiller and Rylee and Lauren Solonynko. Luba was born in Manchester, England on November 15, 1950 to Andrew (predeceased) and Fenia Hirniak. The family immigrated to Taber, AB when Luba was 3 years old and she is survived by her brothers Myron (Terralin) of Calgary and Steve of Taber. Dan and Luba were married in 1970 and lived in Calgary until they relocated to Oakville in 2003. Luba was a wonderful and devoted friend to many and cherished such friendships deeply. She was a strong spirit with a huge heart. She had the wonderful ability to listen to others and was always there in times of need. Luba fought a courageous and tough battle with cancer and throughout this, her passion for family and friends never waivered. She was determined to never let go and so, her spirit will live on forever in all of us. In appreciation of the care Luba received, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in the memory of Luba to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. with prayers at 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at St. Cuthbert's Church, 1541 Oakhill Drive (at Maplegrove Drive), Oakville.
