IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Louis Lajos
(Lou) Kulcsar
September 28, 1929 – January 28, 2023
Lou died peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He was born in Budapest, Hungary and came to Canada in 1957. He lived in Belleville for nearly 30 years before coming to Oakville in 1986.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn (Medjuck) of Oakville, a daughter Edit (Laszlo Pechl) and two grandchildren Richard (Regina) and Monika (Krisztian) all of Budapest. He was predeceased by his parents and an infant daughter.
He spent most of his working life in Canada in the Precast Concrete business and was active with the Canadian Standards Association, retiring as a chairman of a standards committee.
Lou was an avid and proficient skier and an avid golfer. He loved to drive and in retirement he and Marilyn crossed the continent four times taking different routes on every trip.
For 15 years, he was a snow bird at Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda where he formed many lasting friendships.
I would like to thank the doctors and nurses at OTMH on 5 South and 3 North who provided Lou with comfort and caring in his final days.
I would also like to thank Dr. John Taylor who was Lou's long time family doctor and who Lou considered a friend.
A memorial reception will take place in the spring.
For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Oakville Hospital Foundation .
