Lorraine
Armstrong
May 8, 1936 – March 23, 2026
St. Andrew's Church
11:00 am - 12:00 pm (Eastern time)
Lorraine Armstrong passed away peacefully on March 23rd at the age of 89 in Oakville, Ontario, surrounded by her loving grandchildren. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born in Guelph, Ontario, Lorraine was the daughter of Stella. She was raised in Toronto before settling in Mississauga, where she built a life centered on family, connection, and resilience. She was predeceased by her children, Phil and Mary Lynn, whom she loved deeply and carried in her heart.
Lorraine was a proud and loving “Grannie” to Amy (Tyler), Taylor, Desmond (Angelika), and Madeleine (Roberto). She was also a great-grandmother to Parker, Serena, Bianca, Angelo, and Sophie, who brought her so much joy.
Lorraine had a long and dedicated career at the Canadian Music Centre before her retirement. Outside of her professional life, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures - she was an avid reader and traveler, enjoyed walks around Oakville, and was a woman of deep faith who regularly attended St. Andrew’s Catholic Church.
Known for her strong will, Lorraine was both stubborn and full of love. To know her was truly to love her. She was a social butterfly who treasured her relationships and made great effort to stay connected, often spending her days catching up with friends and family near and far.
Her love for her family was unwavering, and her presence will be missed terribly. Lorraine leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and enduring connection.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine’s memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. A mass will be held in Oakville at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church on April 17th at 11:00AM.
