"Questa è la vita" she often said. (This is life)

Lina Mosca, former long time resident of Oakville, passed away peacefully, at the age of 96, at Billings Court Manor.

She was predeceased by her husband, Antonio in 2011, and by her parents, Giuseppina and Giuseppe; and by her brothers, Luigi and Angelo.

She leaves behind her children, Josie (Ram), Flora (Marshall), Lou (Jenn) and Dean (Victoria). Nonna will be missed by her ten grandchildren, Leila, Teressa, Raymond, Ryan, Brett, James, Lina, Jordan, Corrina, and Drake. She was also blessed with eight great grandchildren.

Lina was born in Assergi, L'Aquila, Italy. She immigrated in 1952 with her infant daughter. She always loved her chosen home, Canada, and never looked back. She was a good, strong, and determined wife and mother who worked hard and sacrificed for her family. We were blessed with mom's faith in God, and she raised us to know religion in our lives.  With her no-nonsense approach she encouraged us to pursue higher education to better ourselves.  Even though she excelled in school, her own schooling was unfortunately cut short.

Mom loved to spend time in her garden. She used the harvest in preparing her great Italian meals. She always asked "Did you eat?" when relating with her children. She loved to cook up a feast for holidays and special occasions for family, relatives, or friends. One never went away hungry from one of these!

At the age of 75, she received her driver's license. She was determined to travel to visit Antonio in the nursing home to see him every day, and carry goodies and meals for him in her bag. The unconditional love she showed for her husband taught us by example. Nonna adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would often reach in her wallet to give them a little something.

She will also be fondly remembered by her relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, (one block east of Kerr) from 2-4pm and 6-9pm on Sunday September 18, 2022.

Funeral Mass 10:30am Monday September 19, 2022, at St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church, 2415 Rebecca St. Oakville

Interment is at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens, Oakville.

Masks indoors are at your discretion.
