It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lazar Siriski, peacefully on June 22, 2023, at the age of 88 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.  Lazar will be deeply missed by Dusanka, who feels blessed to have shared his life for the past 65 years, and his loving children John (Julie) and Aleksandra (Stephen).  He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jennifer (Corey), Michael, Makenna, Sydney (predeceased) and Spencer.  He adored his grandchildren who filled him with immense pride and who are lucky to have known such a brilliant, kind, and gentle soul. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital, especially the staff of 5C and the palliative care unit who were unbelievable in his last days.

Lazar was born in Vojvodina, Serbia on October 20, 1934. He immigrated to Canada in 1967 and settled in Oakville, Ontario.  He began working at Ford Motor Company Canada then transitioned to a successful business owner in Cornwall, Ontario and returned to Oakville upon retirement.

Lazar was known by all to have a great love of fishing.  He was also a very talented cabinet maker by trade.  A gentle family man, he was the perfect father; kind, caring and supportive of all times. Lazar will be remembered as a man of great integrity and work ethic, freely giving his time and expertise.  His family, friends will miss his warmth, compassion, and his willingness to always lend a helping hand.  In the end, his heart failed, but never in life when his heart brought constant love to his family and friends.  We are truly grateful for the gift of his life and will miss him always.
