IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kimberly Anne
Myrans
November 13, 1979 – November 11, 2024
Kimberly Anne Myrans, age 44, passed away at Ian Anderson House hospice in Oakville, Ontario, on November 11, 2024. She is survived by her husband Iain, her mother Judith (Rolf Brusse), sister Katherine (David Mouzenian), and her loving extended family.
Kim was born November 13, 1979, in Oshawa, Ontario, to Judith and Gary Deir. While her father passed away in 1986, Kim carried his love with her throughout her life.
Kim was an OCAD-trained illustrator and a talented artist. She worked as a graphic designer at Mt. Sinai and Bridgepoint Hospitals in Toronto. Throughout her life her passion for the outdoors could be found in her love of mountain biking, rock climbing, mudlarking, hiking and travel.
Her friends and family will miss Kim's true kindness, creativity, and sense of adventure — and the way she brought us all joy, just by being with her. In the words of one member of Kim's care team, Kim "taught us all what brave looks like, what grateful looks like, what great humour looks like and what courage looks like." And above all, what love looks like.
Donations in Kim's memory are encouraged to both Ian Anderson House hospice, whose caring staff brought so much happiness to Kim at a difficult time, and to the Pencer Brain Tumour Centre at Princess Margaret Hospital, whose medical team became like family during Kim's 17-year fight with brain cancer.
A visitation will be held on November 21 from 4-7 at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home in Oakville. To reflect Kim's outgoing and joyous spirit, a celebration of life will take place in January, with details to follow.
"I feel as if my ancestors are here with me in spirit, in the stars, in the night sky shining down on me"
- Kimberly Myrans in her book "The Star Breasted Blackbird"
