Obituary

Gone: 72 years, 4 months, 24 days
With profound sadness we said goodbye to our special father to Amy & Andrew, grandfather to Asher & Ellis, brother to Louise & Joe and uncle to Brent & Jason. He was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba in 1942 to Luisa and Mike Czettisch. Graduated in 1965 from St. Paul's College of the University of Manitoba. Moved to Oakville, Ontario in 1977 with Ford Motor Company. Known best for his short answers and honest truths. Unless it was a topic worth discussing, he kept his words brief. To say he was sincere is an understatement. Genuine, relaxed, and always himself. He was a modest and humble man, who took simple pleasure in simple things. Never shy of the sun, a book, or an ice cold beer, Ken knew how to unwind. He was charismatic and reliable, and lived life according to his own moral code; a leader in his own right. Forever in our minds is his fondness for Flin Flon and love of the north with his annual fishing trips to Plummer's Lodges mainly at Great Slave Lake and Great Bear Lake with his closest friends Chummy Plummer and Gerry Little. His time at the Ford Motor Company is where Ken's creativity was most apparent as he left his mark on both the industry and those he worked with. Cancer was diagnosed early March and although his death came quickly on April 24, 2015, Ken organized all possible details himself in true Ken-fashion. He was cared for thoughtfully at Ian Anderson House in Oakville and was surrounded by those he loved. He was appreciative of all the attention and care bestowed upon him both at Ian Anderson House and Credit Valley Hospital and was peaceful and stoic until the very end. Ken said he was ready to bow out. To all his dear friends Ken says, "Sayonara". Funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 10:30 am at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds Street, Oakville, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ian Anderson House Foundation at www.ianandersonhouse.com or the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca in his name, would be greatly appreciated.
