Passed away in Oakville in his one hundredth year on June 13, 2009. Husband of the late Kathleen Bissell, nee Webb. Cherished father of Judy Bissell, Susan Verdon (Ray) and Elizabeth Gillespie (Richard). A very special and fun loving grandfather to Rob Orviss, Johanna Blackford (Woody), John Verdon (Mij), Graham Verdon (Lisa), Liz Mandel (John), Nora Dureja (Rohit) and Richard Gillespie. Dear great-grandfather (G.G. Ken) of Noah Verdon, Abby Blackford, Justin, Jade and Daniel Verdon. He is also survived by his sister, Pat Campbell of Surrey B.C. Our Dad was born in Brockville, but spent his childhood and adult life until 1979, in Montreal and Pointe Claire, Quebec. His career with Northern Electric in radios and television, spanned four decades and there he established many long-term friends with whom he enjoyed poker games and fishing trips. Our Dad was a wonderful guy who went above and beyond for his family. We will always remember with laughter, his wonderful and unique sense of humour. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home from 10:30 to 11:30 with a Service of Remembrance to follow on Thursday, June 18, 2009. Sincere thanks to both the Post Inn Village and previously the Kensington staffs for their attentive care. If desired, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
