Kathleen Irene Bowes, 101, of Oakville Ontario, passed away on March 29, 2024 after recent declining health. A kind and loving spouse, caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Kathleen will be missed and fondly remembered.

Kathleen Cox was born on September 22nd, 1922 in Winnipeg Manitoba. Upon graduation from business college, where she met her husband to be, George Bowes, Kathleen worked for The Great West Life Insurance company.  A new career she greatly enjoyed.

After George's return from WWII, they were married in Winnipeg. Living in Lethbridge, Alberta, Kathleen gave birth to their first son Barry. Soon after, they moved to Lachine, Quebec for 32 happy and prosperous years, and where they adopted their little girl, Laurie.

Kathleen became an avid curler and was president of the Lachine Lady's Curling Club. In later years she worked as a teaching assistant at Lachine High School. After George retired from Air Canada in 1983, they moved to Oakville, Ontario to be close to their grandchildren. There Kathleen continued curling, took up lawn bowling, oil painting, and did volunteer work.

Kathleen and George became very involved with their three grandchildren, Melanie, Christopher and Michael, taking them on trips, outings, and creating numerous memorable family occasions. Kathleen was an accomplished baker and took pride in preparing many excellent family feasts.

Kathleen was predeceased by her husband George, infant son John, and daughter Laurie. She is survived by her son Barry, daughter-in-law Marie-Andree, granddaughter Melanie, and grandsons Christopher and Michael.
